black northeaster

#A northeasterly gale that occurs in southeast Australia in summer, with low pressure to the northwest and high pressure off the coast of New South Wales.
It sometimes blows for three days, with thick overcast weather and heavy rain (visibility as low as a quarter of a mile).

- A northeast gale on the east coast of North Island, New Zealand, that lasts for several hours and is accompanied by dark clouds and heavy rain.
