Grashoff number
From Glossary of Meteorology
Grashoff number
(Abbreviated Gr.) A nondimensional parameter used in the theory of heat transfer, defined by where L is a representative length, T1 and T0 representative temperatures, g the acceleration of gravity, and ν the kinematic viscosity.
The Grashoff number is associated with the Reynolds number and the Prandtl number in the study of convection.
