solar activity[edit | edit source]

A space weather term describing the variations in the sun as measured by enhanced X-ray emission, typically associated with solar flares. Solar activity generally correlates with the solar cycle, whereby higher levels of activity are more likely during solar maximum and very low activity levels are more frequent during solar minimum.
