Transport of a fluid property by eddies too large to be modeled by eddy diffusivity in a turbulent flow.

Examples are the transport by organized large eddies in the boundary layers of the atmosphere and the ocean. These large eddies have dimensions comparable to the height of the boundary layers.


The process of transport of an atmospheric property solely by the mass motion (velocity field) of the atmosphere; also, the rate of change of the value of the advected property at a given point.
