Wet growth
From Glossary of Meteorology
wet growth
The condition in the accretion of supercooled water droplets onto ice in which the temperature of the ice remains at the melting point because of the release of the heat of fusion by the freezing droplets.
The ice formed usually contains some liquid water (spongy ice) and its surface during growth is mostly wet. The ice produced by wet growth is often quite clear and is called glaze.
