Elliptical polarization

elliptical polarization

A polarization state of an electromagnetic wave in which the electric field vector at a point in space describes an ellipse. Definition of the polarization state includes the direction of rotation of the electric field (right or left), the ellipticity, and the orientation of the major axis of the ellipse.
