Frontal contour
From Glossary of Meteorology
frontal contour
The line of intersection of a front (frontal surface) with a specified surface in the atmosphere, usually a constant-pressure surface.
With respect to only one surface, this line is usually called, simply, the front. A frontal-contour chart is a single synoptic chart on which are drawn all available frontal contours, thereby clearly showing the three-dimensional configuration of all fronts within the area of the chart.
