Geostationary Operational Meteorological Satellite

(Abbreviated GOMS; also referred to as Elektro or Electro.) A Russian satellite system designed to monitor central Asia and the Indian Ocean at 76°E longitude.

The satellite reached geostationary orbit in November 1994, but has not produced reliable operational imagery.
