High Resolution Picture Transmission

(Abbreviated HRPT.) Full resolution digital AVHRR data (all channels) transmitted at S-band by POES satellites.

The HRPT data stream is equivalent to local area coverage data, but is transmitted as a continuous broadcast by the satellite as it orbits the earth.
