Homogeneous fluid

From Glossary of Meteorology

homogeneous fluid

Strictly, a fluid with uniform properties throughout, but meteorologists sometimes designate as homogeneous a fluid with constant density.

No fluid is homogeneous in an absolute sense. Homogeneity must be specified relative to a characteristic length (e.g., the size of the probe used to measure the properties of the fluid).
Compare heterogeneous fluid.
