(Also called horn radiator.) A type of radio antenna often used because of its directional properties and simple structure.

It consists essentially of flared extensions of a metallic waveguide. Large horn antennas are used primarily in research applications to produce very narrow vertical or horizontal beams.


(Also called aerial; sometimes the more general term radiator is used.) A conductor or system of conductors for radiating and/or receiving radio energy.
