In a leaky aquifer, leakage coefficient for a given observation well refers to the dimensionless parameter

where r is the distance of the observation well from the pumping well; K and K′ are the hydraulic conductivity of the aquifer and the leaky layer, respectively; and H and H′ are the thickness of the aquifer and the leaky layer, respectively.
