main lobe[edit | edit source]
(Or main beam.) The lobe in the radiation pattern of a directional antenna that includes the region of the maximum radiated power.
The center of the main lobe defines the beam axis. The beamwidth in a given plane is usually defined as the angle within which the radiated intensity is at least one-half the intensity in the direction of the beam axis.
