Margules's equation
An equation for the equilibrium inclination of an interface separating two homogeneous air masses in a steady geostrophic motion parallel to the interface, where α is the angle of inclination of the surface to the horizontal, f the Coriolis parameter, g the gravitational acceleration, and T1 and T2 the absolute temperatures of the colder and warmer air masses, respectively, with speeds v1 and v2.
This equilibrium condition has been used to calculate the slope of atmospheric frontal surfaces.
