reach

  1. A specified portion of a stream channel, commonly taken between two stream gauging stations, but may be taken between any two specified endpoints.

  2. In hydraulic and sediment transportation calculations, a reach of stream is a specified length of a stream channel used for computational purposes such as flood routing.
