Sediment discharge rating

sediment discharge rating

(Also called silt discharge rating.) The graphic or functional relationship between sediment discharge rate (mass per unit time) in flowing water and the corresponding water discharge rate in volume per unit time or mass per unit time.

The graphical relationship is called a rating curve and the functional relationship is called a rating equation or rating function.
