South Atlantic convergence zone
A local maximum in cloudiness, precipitation, and low-level convergence that occurs in a northwest–southeast oriented swath extending across southeastern Brazil and the western South Atlantic.
This counterpart to the South Pacific convergence zone is strongest in summer.
