From Glossary of Meteorology

conveyance

(Used in open channel flow.) The ratio of the discharge, Q, in a channel to the square root of the energy gradient, Sf.

In the Manning equation it can be expressed as
ams2001glos-Ce36
or
ams2001glos-Ce37
where
ams2001glos-Ce38
where n is Manning's roughness coefficient (indicative of resistance to the flow) and A is the cross-sectional area of the channel.
